"Customer", "you", or "your" refers to the individual or business entity placing an order for our products or services.

2. Quotations

All quotations provided by FH Fabrications are valid for a period of 14 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated in writing. After this period, prices may be subject to change due to fluctuations in material costs.

Quotations are based on the information provided by the customer at the time of enquiry. Should site conditions differ from those described, or additional work be required, supplementary charges may apply.

All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT unless otherwise specified. VAT will be added at the prevailing rate at the time of invoicing.

Free site surveys are available for customers within our standard service area. Surveys outside this area may incur a travel charge, which will be communicated in advance.

3. Orders & Payment

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order value is required to confirm your order and commence manufacture. No work will begin until this deposit has been received and cleared.

Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due in full prior to delivery or installation of your products. We accept payment by bank transfer (BACS) or cheque.

Order Confirmation: Upon receipt of your deposit, we will provide written confirmation of your order including specifications, dimensions, finish, and estimated completion date. Please review this carefully and notify us of any discrepancies within 48 hours.

Order Amendments: Once manufacture has commenced, orders cannot be amended or cancelled. Any changes requested prior to manufacture may incur additional charges and may affect delivery timescales.

Late Payment: Payments not received within 7 days of the due date may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate. Failure to make payment may result in the matter being passed to a third-party debt collection agency, with all associated costs borne by the customer.

4. Manufacture & Materials

All products are manufactured using premium-grade steel and materials sourced from reputable UK suppliers. We reserve the right to substitute materials of equivalent or superior quality should our standard materials become unavailable.

Our products are fabricated using mild steel construction. References to "wrought iron" or "iron gates" are used for descriptive purposes; actual products are manufactured from mild steel unless otherwise specified.

Bespoke items are manufactured to the customer's specifications. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure all measurements provided are accurate. FH Fabrications accepts no liability for products manufactured to incorrect customer-supplied measurements.

Where FH Fabrications carries out site measurements, we will take reasonable care to ensure accuracy. However, minor variations of up to 10mm may occur due to the nature of bespoke fabrication.

5. Delivery

Estimated delivery times are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to factors beyond our control including, but not limited to, material availability, weather conditions, or unforeseen manufacturing issues.

FH Fabrications shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from delayed delivery.

Upon delivery, the customer must inspect all products for damage or defects. Any issues must be reported in writing within 48 hours of delivery. Failure to report issues within this timeframe may affect your warranty rights.

The customer is responsible for ensuring adequate access to the delivery location. Additional charges may apply if our delivery team is unable to complete delivery due to access issues not previously disclosed.

6. Installation

Where installation is included in your order, FH Fabrications will carry out the work in a professional and workmanlike manner, in accordance with relevant British Standards and industry best practice.

Site Preparation: The customer is responsible for ensuring the installation site is clear, accessible, and ready for work. This includes removing any obstructions, ensuring adequate power supply where required, and obtaining any necessary planning permissions or building regulations approval.

Existing Structures: No guarantee is given regarding the condition of existing brickwork, walls, or other structures to which our products are fixed. During our initial site visit, we will assess existing structures and advise of any remedial work required. Such work is the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Additional Work: Unforeseen work or changes requested during installation may incur additional charges. We will notify you of any such charges before proceeding.

Access & Parking: The customer shall provide adequate access for our installation team and vehicles. Any parking charges or access fees incurred shall be the customer's responsibility.

Return Visits: Where a return visit is required due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to customer unavailability, incomplete site preparation, or access issues), a minimum call-out charge will apply.

7. Finishes & Coatings

All products are supplied with a durable powder-coated finish unless otherwise specified. Standard colours are black, white, and grey. Alternative RAL colours are available upon request and may incur additional charges.

Hot-dip galvanising is available as an optional upgrade and provides enhanced corrosion protection, particularly recommended for coastal or high-humidity environments.

Powder coating provides a durable finish but may show signs of wear over time, particularly in high-traffic areas. Regular maintenance and periodic touch-ups may be required to maintain appearance.

Where products are galvanised, any on-site cutting, drilling, or modification will break the galvanised layer and may affect corrosion resistance. Such modifications should be treated with an appropriate zinc-rich primer.

8. Warranty & Guarantee

Workmanship: All products manufactured by FH Fabrications are guaranteed against defects in workmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of installation or delivery (for supply-only orders).

Structural Integrity: We guarantee the structural integrity of our products for a period of 5 years from the date of installation, subject to proper use and maintenance.

Finish: Powder-coated finishes are guaranteed against peeling and flaking for a period of 12 months. Galvanised finishes are guaranteed against rust-through for a period of 5 years.

Locks & Hardware: Locks, handles, and other hardware components carry a 12-month manufacturer's warranty. All locks supplied comply with British Standard BS3621 where applicable.

Automation: Where gate automation is supplied and installed by FH Fabrications, a 12-month parts and labour warranty applies. Warranty work is carried out during normal working hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). Call-outs outside these hours may incur additional charges.

9. Warranty Exclusions

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or failure to follow maintenance guidelines
  • Damage caused by attempted repair or modification by persons other than FH Fabrications
  • Damage caused by extreme weather events, accidents, or vandalism
  • Normal wear and tear, including gradual fading of finishes due to UV exposure
  • Products installed by third parties (unless the issue relates solely to manufacturing defects)

  • Damage to automation systems caused by power surges, lightning strikes, or electrical faults

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FH Fabrications' total liability for any claim arising from or in connection with our products or services shall not exceed the price paid by the customer for the relevant product or service.

FH Fabrications shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of use.

Nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for:

  • Ensuring all measurements and specifications provided are accurate
  • Obtaining any necessary planning permissions, building regulations approval, or listed building consent
  • Ensuring our products comply with any restrictive covenants or lease conditions affecting the property
  • Providing safe and adequate access for our installation teams
  • Maintaining products in accordance with our care and maintenance guidelines
  • Ensuring gates do not open outward into public highways, footpaths, or shared access ways (unless appropriate measures are in place)

12. Cancellation & Refunds

Orders for bespoke products cannot be cancelled once manufacture has commenced. The deposit paid is non-refundable.

For orders cancelled before manufacture commences, a cancellation fee of 25% of the total order value will apply to cover administration and design costs.

As all our products are made to order, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind.

In the unlikely event that a product is found to be defective upon delivery, please contact us within 48 hours. We will arrange inspection and, where appropriate, repair or replacement at no additional cost.

13. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, and specifications created by FH Fabrications remain our intellectual property. These may not be shared with third parties or used by other fabricators without our written consent.

We reserve the right to photograph completed installations for use in our marketing materials, website, and social media. If you do not wish your installation to be photographed or published, please notify us in writing at the time of ordering.

14. Force Majeure

FH Fabrications shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flood, severe weather, pandemic, industrial disputes, or supply chain disruptions.

15. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
